Beijing: Indian professor appointed as European president of Chinese business-institute
Dipak Jain, a prominent Indian professor in the US, has been appointed as the new European president of Shanghai-based China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). Jain, 61, will replace Pedro Nueno who held the position for 28 years. Jain, a former dean of two of the world's leading business schools, Kellogg School of Management and INSEAD, will work alongside his Chinese counterpart Li Mingjun.
Targeting individuals having an interest in China, says Jain
"We are targeting an individual who has an interest in China. Someone who might want to work here and create something," Jain said. Exuding confidence that the new role will grant him the opportunity to study a country that he has seen mainly from outside, Jain said he put forth the importance of business education to "put a structure on unstructured problems".
