India is the "global capital" of mobile-apps, reveals Worldpay research
A new Research conducted by Worldpay reveals that 82% Indians prefer shopping on their smartphones through new payment technology Worldpay. This is far ahead of the global average of 71%. Research found that India's app market is booming, with consumers have on average 10 apps downloaded onto their mobile device, compared to seven in the UK and US. Here's more.
What was the research about?
To discover recent mobile payment experience, the Worldpay's latest global overview of mobile consumer spending, The Mobile Payment Journey, polled over 16,000 people across ten markets who have purchased goods on their mobile phones within last three months. The research was conducted across Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, India, Japan, South Korea, and the US. Last year, Indians downloaded 12.1 billion apps.
