How Meghan Markle's life will change after getting married
The Windsor Castle and its surrounding areas are soaked in fervour as the big day of Meghan Markle's wedding to Prince Harry, is here. The couple will be known as Duke and Duchess of Sussex from now on. As millions across the globe have their eyes on the royal wedding, we tell you how Meghan's life will undergo a drastic change after today.
No more plunging necklines, ripped jeans for Meghan Markle
Women of the royal family are prohibited from wearing plunging necklines. They are also supposed to wear stockings always. In fact, when Meghan Markle did not wear stockings during her first appearance after getting engaged to Prince Harry, she invited scrutiny. She can only wear jeans on dress-down days, and they can never be ripped. Short skirts etc. are a strict no-no.
Meghan Markle can't take selfies, sign autographs
Meghan Markle, who was once quite active on social media, will have to bid adieu to it. In fact, her profiles have already been deactivated. Markle's social media presence will be ensured by @KensingtonRoyal just like Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry. She can no longer take selfies or sign autographs. The members of the royal family don't sign autographs to prevent forgery.
Apart form acting, Markle said goodbye to other projects too
The Queen of England has remained neutral in political matters, and other members of the family are expected to do the same. This means Meghan Markle can never run for office. She is also expected to quit other projects like being the woman's advocate for United Nations and global ambassador for World Vision Canada. After her engagement, the former 'Suits' star also left acting.
There are even rules on what to avoid eating
Members of the royal family carry a black dress with them always, so they are dressed appropriately if someone dies. Apart from what she can wear, there are commandments on what Meghan can (or more like cannot) eat. The Royals don't eat shellfish as it has a higher risk of food poisoning. They also stay away from drinking tap water on foreign trips.
The couple's cutesy appearances are a thing of the past
As much as we loved Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's PDA, it will all stop after today. Though there is no rule against PDA, members follow the Queen's example. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will always walk behind the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The royal family walk in order of who's next in line to the throne.
