A video has gone viral recently that shows a pot of boiling soup exploding in a woman's face in China. The incident happened in one of the Haidilao restaurants, a popular hot pot chain in the dragon country, where the woman worked as a waitress. Customer apparently accidentally dropped cigarette lighter, asked woman to help
As per local reports, three customers were having a meal in the Haidilao restaurant in the city of Kunming, when one of them apparently accidentally dropped his cigarette lighter into the soup. In the viral video, the waitress can be seen scooping the lighter out calmly and strategically, when suddenly the lighter exploded making the content of the pot burst out.
Waitress and one customer were rushed to hospital for treatment
Further, the manager of the restaurant said, "Because the burner below the hot pot had just been switched off, the temperature was still about 200 degrees [Celsius]" Reportedly, the waitress along with a customer from the table was immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment.
The customer should have been burned, says angry netizen
While the customer at fault has not been held responsible for the incident, many netizens blamed him. One of them said, "What in hell are you doing with a lighter next to a hot pot? It should be the customer who is burned." "Drops a lighter in a hot pot and then has the nerve to ask the waitress to retrieve it," said another.
