Afghanistan: Army helicopter crash kills all 25 on board
Due to bad weather, an army helicopter carrying senior officials has crashed today in Farah province, Afghanistan, killing all 25 onboard. The helicopter, which was heading towards Herat province, crashed shortly after taking off from the mountainous Anar Dara district, said the Provincial Governor's spokesperson, Naser Mehdi. Head of Farah Provincial Council and Deputy Corps Commander of Afghanistan's Western Zone were among the passengers.
In another incident, suicide bomber prison kills seven in Kabul
In another incident today in Afghanistan, a suicide bomber, outside the country's largest prison in Kabul, killed seven people, including prison workers and security personnel. Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danish said the attacker targeted a bus carrying prison workers. The attack occurred near the gate of Pul-e-Charkhi prison, where a number of visitors were waiting for security check before entering, a prison official said.
