Baseball shooting to lead to victory? Republicans believe so
Georgia's Republican official, Brad Carver believes that the shooting at the congressional baseball practice could escalate their chances of winning in the state's special House election. Carver further added that this incident just hinted at signs of left-wing extremism. For the unversed, Republican Karen Handel and Democratic Jon Ossoff are running for the special election.
State's special election
Tuesday's special election for Georgia's 6th congressional district will see both the Republicans and the Democrats battle it out to make a position in the Trump administration. This election also is a litmus test for the Democrats and Republicans as they start their preparations for the midterm elections of 2018.
The shooting which is being touted as staircase to victory
At least five people became victims and received injuries last week when a gunman opened fire at a Republican baseball practice. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise also fell prey to the shooting incident. Suspect James T Hodgkinson allegedly, opened fire on Republican lawmakers.
Who is who?
Republican candidate Karen Handel has experience in serving as the Georgian secretary of state where she implemented controversial voter ID laws. Meanwhile on the other hand, Jon Ossoff, a former congressional aide rarely has experience in politics but he has been a documentary filmmaker.
What emanates from such a statement?
Whilst remarks of the Republicans of winning this special election have been doing rounds, it is also being speculated by them that they were witnessing absolute resistance to everything the president did. The Republican officials added that Democrats have never given Donald Trump a fair chance.
