What's next for Joe Biden? He signs with Hollywood agency
What's the story
Former United States President Joe Biden (82) has re-signed with the Hollywood talent agency, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), after an eight-year break. This marks a major move in shaping his post-presidency career.
The news was confirmed by CAA in a media statement on Tuesday.
During his previous stint with CAA, as vice president in the Barack Obama administration, Biden published his memoir Promise Me, Dad, and embarked on a successful tour.
Career highlights
Biden's previous success with CAA and future prospects
While previously represented by CAA, Biden went on the 42-date American Promise tour, selling over a staggering 85,000 tickets across the US. He also attended several speaking engagements.
His memoir, which explores his eldest son Beau's fight with cancer and eventual death, as well as his tour and speaking events, reportedly set the stage for his successful 2020 White House run.
Financial growth
Biden's financial prospects and family involvement in CAA
Biden's ties with CAA are likely to bring in "lucrative opportunities."
During his previous tenure at the agency, his earnings reportedly skyrocketed from less than $4,00,000 per annum to over $15 million in two years due to his bestselling book and appearances.
Meanwhile, Biden's son Hunter is also eyeing opportunities at CAA and has been trailed by a documentary crew for a project funded by LA-based lawyer Kevin Morris.
Agency impact
CAA's global influence and Biden's potential opportunities
CAA is a world-famous talent agency, representing stars like Ariana Grande, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, and Zendaya from the film, sports, and music industries.
The agency was purchased by French billionaire Francois Pinault's holding company Artemis in 2023.
CAA's co-chairman Richard Lovett said he was honored to work with Biden again, adding that he is "one of America's most respected and influential voices in national and global affairs."
Agency roster
CAA's political clientele and Biden's future plans
CAA's client list also features Barack and Michelle Obama's production company Higher Ground Productions, as well as other left-leaning politicians like John Manchin, Susan Rice, and Beto O'Rourker.
It remains unclear what Biden's future projects with CAA will be. However, after over five decades in public service, he assured supporters last month that while he was leaving office, he was not "leaving the fight."
