Former US President George HW Bush moves out of ICU
Former US President George HW Bush who was hospitalized for an infection that had spread to his blood has been moved from the intensive care unit to a regular hospital room. The 41st US President is "alert and talking with hospital staff, family, and friends, and his doctors are very pleased with his progress," the family spokesman, Jim McGrath, said in a statement.
Bush expected to remain at hospital for several more days
McGrath said that Bush is expected to remain at Houston Methodist Hospital for several more days. HW Bush's wife, Barbara Bush, died on April 17. He was hospitalized a day after her funeral. Bush, 93, is the US's oldest living president. He has a rare syndrome that mimics Parkinson's disease. "President Bush thanks everyone for their prayers and good wishes," the statement said.
