What's the story
Tech billionaire Elon Musk and his partner Shivon Zilis have welcomed their fourth child, a boy named Seldon Lycurgus. Zilis shared the news on X earlier today.
"Discussed with Elon and, in light of beautiful Arcadia's birthday, we felt it was better to also just share directly about our wonderful and incredible son Seldon Lycurgus," she wrote.

Zilis describes newborn as 'built like a juggernaut'
In her social media post, Zilis, a prominent AI expert at Neuralink, described her newborn son. She wrote, "Built like a juggernaut, with a solid heart of gold. Love him so much."
Musk responded to the announcement with a simple heart emoji.
The couple's decision to expand their family is in line with Musk's belief in procreation as a societal duty.
Parenting journey
A look at Musk and Zilis's journey to parenthood
Musk and Zilis first became parents to twins Strider Sekhar Sirius and Azure Astra Alice in 2021 via IVF. Their third child Arcadia was born in 2024.
In Walter Isaacson's biography Elon Musk, Zilis explained her decision to have kids with Musk. She said he encouraged her because he wants smart people to procreate.
The choice between an anonymous sperm donor or having kids with someone she admires immensely, is an easy one.
Paternity claim
Ashley St. Clair claims Musk fathered her child
In a separate development, conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair has claimed Musk is the father of her child.
She announced on X on February 14, 2025, that she had given birth five months ago and Musk was the father.
St. Clair has also filed a paternity petition seeking legal recognition of Musk as the father while requesting sole custody of their child.
Family history
Musk's complex family tree and procreation philosophy
Musk's first wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson, is the mother of six of his children.
They had twins Griffin and Vivian, and triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian. Their first child Nevada tragically died at 10 weeks due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
In 2020, Musk welcomed X AE A-Xii with singer Grimes. The couple later had two more children—Exa Dark Siderael and Techno Mechanicus—via a surrogate.
With Zilis, he had three children, and they've now welcomed another member.
