Elon Musk's estranged father had a baby with his stepdaughter
The estranged father of billionaire Elon Musk, who had a baby with his stepdaughter 10 months ago, thinks it was "God's plan." 72-year-old Errol Musk met 30-year-old Jana Bezuidenhout when he married her mother Heide. Jana was four. But she grew up away from the family, he said. This might explain why Elon had called his father a "terrible human being" in November.
Contact re-established last year. Jana was pregnant two months later
Speaking from his South Africa home, Errol said he never considered Jana his stepdaughter because of the distance. He and Heide, who had two children together, had divorced after 18 years. Last year, he and Jana re-established contact and he did "everything in his power" to help her overcome a breakup. "We were lonely, lost people." Errol said. "One thing led to another."
He supports Jana and the child but doesn't stay together
Two months later, Jana told him she was pregnant. He first thought it was her ex, but a paternity test showed it was his child. "Jana is a delightful girl and a wonderful mother. She said I had changed her life," he said. He continues supporting her and his baby son and sees them regularly, but they don't stay together.
'Errol is the only father Jana had known'
Though Errol is delighted, family members aren't thrilled. This has thrown some light on probably why Elon hasn't spoken to him in 18 months. "The whole family was outraged. This is the reason why Elon is so angry with Errol. He is the only father she has ever known. And now he is the father of her child as well," an unnamed relative said.
'My father's done every evil you can possibly think of'
Elon is Errol's son with Maye, the first of his four wives. The couple met in school, married in 1970 and divorced in 1979. He hasn't kept his repulsion for his father hidden, claiming he had committed almost every crime and done every evil thing "you can possibly think of." Elon is now brother and uncle to 10-month-old Elliot Rush.
Another 'Woody Allen' story?
This has once again brought into focus Hollywood director Woody Allen's controversial relationship with his stepdaughter Soon-Yi Previn, the adopted daughter of his ex-wife Mia Farrow. Woody married Soon-Yi in 1997. Soon-Yi had said it was "laughable" to think she ever considered him her "father."
