Powerful 5.6-magnitude quake jolts Afghan-Pakistan border; tremors in Delhi-NCR too
A powerful 5.6-magnitude earthquake on Saturday evening jolted the Afghanistan-Pakistan border region. Strong tremors were also reportedly felt across several parts of North India, including Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Jammu & Kashmir. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the epicenter of the quake was located in the Hindu Kush mountain range that stretches along the Afghan-Pakistan border. Here's more.
No reports of damage to life received yet
There have been no reports of damage to life or property so far. Meanwhile, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said that the quake's epicenter was about 211 km below the surface in Afghanistan's Jarm region.
