Chinese driver throws cigarette butt out, sets truck on fire
Driving a vehicle is not an easy job, especially with the innumerable number of accidents that occur every day. And driving absent-mindedly is bound to land you in trouble. In one such incident, a man in China, who was having a smoke while driving, tossed the cigarette out of his vehicle. But his silly mistake ended up setting his truck on fire. Ouch!
Always remember to diffuse the cigarette butt, always
The man, Wu, was driving on a motorway in Zhangzhou, Fujian province of China. After almost finishing his smoke he threw the cigarette butt out of his truck. But little did he know his thoughtless act would land his truck in flames. Wu admitted to his reckless mistake but added that it was probably the wind that blew the cigarette back to the truck.
People rushed with extinguishers to put out the flames
Wu had stopped the vehicle at a toll station after the truck caught fire. Fortunately, several people rushed from the toll station to put out the blaze with fire extinguishers and managed to contain the fire. Pictures shared on social media show the charred remains of the back of the truck. Some plastic cages and two bicycles were damaged in the fire.
Investigators quashes self-ignition as the cause, accepts Wu's theory
Investigators accepted the man's theory and ruled out self-ignition or arson because the rest of the truck was intact. Self-ignition usually occurs in the front and the middle parts of a vehicle, rather than the back.
Drive carefully, have respect for your well-being and others
Wu's mistake is the right example of driving without paying attention. Smoking, drinking alcohol or talking on the phone while driving can often cause accidents like Wu's. In fact, in many countries smoking while driving is banned. Also, Wu's story tells us why you should not litter and should take the environment seriously. Because Karma comes biting back, or like in this case, it comes blazing.
