'Biden's exit was a coup...': Trump tells Musk in interview
Former United States President Donald Trump, in a recent interview with Elon Musk on, said that President Joe Biden was compelled to withdraw from the presidential race due to a "coup." "I beat Biden so bad in the debate, he was forced out of the race...one of the greatest debate performances ever. Biden's exit, it was a coup," Trump said. Musk supported Trump's claim by saying, "They basically took him behind a shed and shot him."
Why does this story matter?
Biden, who had steadfastly remained in the presidential race, unexpectedly withdrew last month, endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for the top position. The 81-year-old made this decision after facing increasing pressure from fellow Democrats to step aside, particularly following a poor debate performance against Trump on June 28. The US Presidential elections will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024
Trump mounts attack at 'radical-left lunatic' Harris
During the interview, Trump expressed frustration over Harris replacing Biden as the Democratic presidential nominee. "She hasn't done an interview since this whole scam started," Trump said. Musk described Harris as "far left," while Trump labeled her a "radical-left lunatic." The pair also took jabs at her running mate, Tim Walz, with Trump criticizing Minnesota's Democratic Governor for enacting progressive policies. "Well, her running mate approved, signed into legislation, tampons in boys' bathrooms," Trump said. "Yeah, that's weird," Musk responded.
Trump recounts assassination attempt against him
Trump also reflected on the assassination attempt against him, describing it as "not pleasant." "I knew immediately that it was a bullet," he added. Musk mentioned that part of his decision to endorse Trump's presidential campaign stemmed from Trump's reaction to the assassination attempt during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, last month. He recalled the viral fist pump pictures of Trump, calling them "just incredibly inspiring."
