    What's the story

Former US President Donald Trump has warned about the future of the United States, during an interview on X with Elon Musk, the social media network's owner.

The two-hour-long discussion, which attracted over 1.3 million users, covered a wide range of topics from recent assassination attempt on Trump to his views on global leaders and national security plans.

Trump expressed his concern that if Kamala Harris wins the 2024 presidential elections, it could lead to the country's downfall.

    Economic critique

Trump criticizes current administration's economic policies

"We don't have a president right now - and Kamala is even worse. She's a San Francisco liberal who destroyed that city, destroyed California, and will destroy our country if she's elected," Trump said.

During the interview, Trump criticized the current administration for their handling of the economy.

He argued that people were saving money four years ago but are now using all their money and borrowing just to live.

US will go out of business if Harris wins: Trump

"The economy is a disaster with inflation... Four years ago, people were saving a lot of money. Today they're using all their money and borrowing money just to live," he said during the interview. He also attacked Harris, saying, "If she wins, this country will go out of business."

    Immigration issues

Trump criticizes Harris's handling of illegal immigration

The former president also addressed issues related to illegal immigration during the interview.

He referred to Harris as a "third-rate phony candidate," accusing her of being ineffective and dishonest about her role in managing border security.

He also claimed that other countries were now emptying their prisons and allowing criminals to illegally migrate to the US

Trump's comments come at a time when opinion polls show Harris has erased his lead in the race to the White House.

    Global stance

Trump's views on international relations and national security

Trump also shared his views on international relations during his presidency.

He claimed that Russia would not have invaded Ukraine if he were still in office. He also said US needs a strong president to tackle the heads of Russia, China, and North Korea, who are "at the top of their game."

On national security, Trump revealed plans to construct an "Iron Dome," similar to Israel's missile defense system, promising it would be made entirely in the US.
