Drunk woman forces Doha-Bali flight's diversion to Chennai
A Doha-Bali flight of Qatar Airways had to be diverted to Chennai yesterday after an inebriated woman on board created a major ruckus. Apparently, she discovered during the flight that her husband was cheating on her. After dropping the family in Chennai, the flight resumed its journey. There was no security issue, but officials kept them at the airport till she got sober.
What happened?
Sometime during the flight, the Iranian woman reportedly unlocked her husband's cellphone using his fingerprint; she was already a few drinks down. While browsing through the device, she discovered he was cheating on her. The couple then got into a loud fight. She also misbehaved with airline crew who tried to pacify her. The pilot decided to divert the plane to Chennai.
Where's the family now?
Once the woman got sober, she, her husband and their child were allowed to leave. The family was put on the Batik Air flight 6019 to Kuala Lumpur, from where they were to take a connecting flight to their ultimate destination (Doha).
