Hong Kong: French daredevil dies after falling from 68th floor
French daredevil Remi Lucidi known for doing extreme sports died after falling off the 68-story Tregunter Tower residential complex in Hong Kong while trying to pose for a photo. Lucidi, 30, who goes by the name Remi Enigma on social media was seen climbing the tower before he fell, according to media reports. Reportedly, he lost his footing plummeting to death, and died instantly.
Lucidi entered the tower around 6 pm
According to Hong Kong officials, Lucidi entered the building around 6 pm and informed the security guard that he was going to visit a friend on the 40th floor. After the purported friend confirmed he did not know Lucidi, a security guard attempted to detain the daredevil, but by that point, Lucidi had already gone inside the elevator.
He got trapped on the top floor
Lucidi was seen on a security camera arriving on the 49th floor via the elevator and then taking the stairs to the top floor. Those who went searching for Lucidi reported that the roof hatch was open but he was not to be found. Lucidi is believed to have gotten trapped outside the top-floor penthouse, where he frantically knocked on the penthouse window.
Lucidi called for help before falling
Lucidi was last seen alive at 7:38 pm. He was seen banging the window of the complex's penthouse for help, prompting a maid in the building to call the police. The police reportedly found Lucidi's camera at the scene. His camera had videos of his high-rise stunts. The cause of his death has not yet been disclosed officially by the authorities.
'Friendly and humble guy'
Gurjit Kaur, the owner of the hostel where Lucidi was reportedly residing shared that he was a "friendly and humble guy." "He was healthy and fit and happy-faced. I feel very sad," Kaur was quoted saying. His Instagram account shows pictures from his high-rise stunts and has over 4,000 followers. His bio states that he is based in Hong Kong.
