Cops troll criminal using phone left by him while escaping
Social media is a funny place and it seems various police departments in the world are also making good use of it. Like these cops in the US who, although were not able to catch a criminal initially, but managed to confiscate his cell phone. They then trolled him using his own accounts on social media recently. Here's what happened.
Cops ask Shawn to collect his phone from Sheriff's office
Recently, when Shawn Anderson Hagan, 30, from Berkeley County in South Carolina was running away from getting caught by the local police, he dropped his cell phone. The cops then decided to make good use of it. They first tweeted through Shawn's Twitter handle, and then posted its screenshot on Facebook, which asked Shawn to collect his phone from Berkeley County Sheriff.

Cops' post left the netizens in splits
The cops' antic went viral soon and the netizens were left in splits. Many kept trolling Shawn, as one netizen wrote, "Do you remember running from the cops and dropping your phone Shawn hagan? Pepperidge farm and BSCO (Berkeley County Sheriff's Office) remembers." Others lauded the cops' efforts and their sense of humor. Another netizen wrote, "Savage BSCO 1 Shawn Hagan 0."
Cops arrested Shawn the following day, updated netizens on Facebook
The following day, the Sheriff's office updated the netizens that Shawn has been caught. Their post said, "Thanks to the many tips we received on Facebook, Berkeley County Deputies were able to apprehend 30-year-old Shawn Anderson Hagan." They also declared that Shawn will be facing charges for initial fleeing and drug charges. Adding salt to his wounds they added the hashtag #DontBeLikeShawn.
