China wants to make a deal very badly, claims Trump
China "very badly" wants to have a trade deal with the United States, President Donald Trump has said ahead of a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in Argentina on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit. China and the United States are currently locked in an ongoing trade war as each country has introduced tariffs on goods traded between each other.
Trump imposed $250bn tariff on Chinese goods, might impose again
Trump has promised to fix China's "longtime abuse of the broken international system and unfair practices". Over past six months, Trump has imposed additional trade tariffs on the import of Chinese products worth $250bn. He said another tariff of equal amount might be imposed. Trump and Xi are scheduled to meet on the sidelines of the G-20 summit on November 30 and December 1.
'Will impose tariff again as China ripped US for years'
Trump told reporters that the US was "doing very well with China" and they "want to make a deal very badly." He said that the US will impose another $250bn on China if there's no deal. "Believe me, I'll be putting them on because China has been ripping off our country for many years. And they don't rip us off with me," he said.
Trump claims US economy doing well, but complains about Fed
Trump said that the US economy is doing quite well. "I would like to see the Fed with a lower interest rate. I think the rate is too high. I think we have much more of a Fed problem than we have a problem with anyone else," he said. He also said that he made a great deal with Canada and Mexico.
Trump appreciates Mexico's help at the US-Mexico border
Referring to Mexico, Trump said, "I appreciate the help that Mexico is giving us at the border. You see that people aren't coming through. All of the fistfights and the fighting that you see are done on the Mexico side. They're not coming in here." "But I appreciate what Mexico is doing. They can do more, but I appreciate what they're doing," he added.
