British model released after being kidnapped for "sex slavery"
20-year-old British glamour model Chloe Ayling was released five days after allegedly being kidnapped in Milan. Ayling claims she was lured to Milan for a photoshoot. There, she was attacked, drugged with ketamine and abducted by two men, who attempted to sell her online for £230,000. Black Death, the criminal organization suspected of Ayling's kidnapping, supposedly released her after learning she had a child.
What happened to Ayling?
In an interview, Ayling said after being drugged, her kidnappers stuffed her in a bag and locked her in the trunk of a car. She was taken to a rural house near Turin in northern Italy and handcuffed to furniture for six days. Her alleged abductors tried auctioning her on the dark web as a sex slave in the Middle East for £230,000.
Ayling calls her experience "terrifying," says she "feared" for life
"I've been through a terrifying experience. I've feared for my life...," Ayling told reporters after returning to London. "I'm incredibly grateful to the Italian and UK authorities for all they have done to secure my safe release."
Ayling was released without harm, no ransom paid
Ayling's abductors also approached her agent Phil Greene, demanding he pay them £50,000 for her release. Italian officials say she was freed by being taken to a British consulate in Milan. It's claimed that she was released by her abductors without harm or receiving any ransom payment because they realized she had a child.
Investigation ongoing, one suspect arrested
An investigation into the kidnapping has been launched by British and Italian authorities. British police have arrested and charged 30-year-old Lukasz Herba, a Polish citizen living in Oldbury, UK, for kidnapping and extortion. Police are also searching Herba's house forensically examining his computer equipment.
