Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro tests positive for coronavirus: Reports
What's the story
Brazilian President, Jair Bolsonaro, has reportedly tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The country's local media has reported that his first test has come back positive for COVID-19.
Earlier, Bolsonaro's press secretary, Fabio Wajngarten, also tested positive for the virus.
Meanwhile, the death toll from the coronavirus pandemic crossed 5,000 globally, as nearly 1.35 lakh confirmed cases were reported.

Bolsonaro recently met with President Trump, Pence in US
Bolsonaro's diagnosis comes days after his US visit where he met with American President Donald Trump and Vice-President Mike Pence at the former's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
Wajngarten also accompanied the Brazilian President to meet Trump. However, Bolsonaro's son Eduardo, who was also on the US trip, tweeted that testing of the delegation that accompanied his father on the tour has not been completed.

I'm not concerned: Trump on possible exposure to coronavirus
After Wajngarten tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday, President Trump said he was "not concerned" about coming into contact with the Brazilian Government official last week.
"Let's put it this way: I'm not concerned. We did nothing very unusual. We sat next to each other for a period of time and had a great conversation," he told reporters at the White House on Thursday.

However, Trump and Pence haven't been tested for COVID-19, so far, even as several Republican officials reportedly decided to go into self-isolation and get tested as a precautionary measure. The White House on Thursday said Trump doesn't plan to be tested or go into self-quarantine.

Coronavirus epicenter, Wuhan, sees a drop in fresh cases
On the other hand, countries across the globe are on alert and have been taking precautionary steps to fight against the coronavirus pandemic and prevent it from spreading.
Meanwhile, the Chinese city of Wuhan, which is the epicenter of the viral outbreak, witnessed a decline Friday in fresh cases even as the country confirmed eight deaths, pushing the national death toll up to 3,176.

Death toll in Italy due to coronavirus crosses 1,000
Coronavirus has so far claimed over 1,000 lives in Italy, the epicenter of the outbreak in Europe. The country, which is the hardest-hit outside Wuhan, registered more than 15,000 positive cases to date.
Iran - one of the worst coronavirus-affected countries - once again recorded the highest single-day toll on Friday with 85 deaths, bringing its total number of COVID-19 fatalities to 514.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 123 countries reported cases of the novel coronavirus so far. Meanwhile, several countries, including India, Greece, Norway, and Poland, among others, recorded their first fatalities Friday. The WHO earlier this week declared the global COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic.
