A blast ripped through the area outside the US embassy in Beijing this morning. The Indian embassy is located nearby. Sources told ANI it was a low-intensity explosion, and that there were no casualties. According to some reports, the blast occurred after a self-immolation attempt near the structure in Chaoyang District. Photos on social media showed smoke rising and police vehicles gathered at the spot.

Speaking to Republic TV, India's Envoy to Beijing Ambassador Gautam Bambawle said, "We heard the blast. We are just next door. There are no fatalities. It was a low-intensity blast. All Indians are safe." More details are awaited.
