Biden wears 'Trump 2024' hat; White House explains why
United States President Joe Biden briefly donned a "Trump 2024" hat during his visit to a Pennsylvania fire station on Wednesday at the 23rd anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. White House senior deputy press secretary Andrew Bates shared on social media that Biden's gesture was a call for Americans to return to the "bipartisan unity" experienced after the attacks.
Trump campaign responds to Biden's hat gesture
"As a gesture, [Biden] gave a hat to a Trump supporter who then said that in the same spirit, POTUS should put on his Trump cap," Bates wrote. The Donald Trump campaign also quickly responded to Biden's gesture, posting a picture from the event with the caption "thanks for the support, Joe!" In a separate post, they joked about Vice President Kamala Harris's performance in the previous night's debate. "Kamala did so bad...Biden put on a Trump hat," they wrote.

Harris and Trump honor 9/11 victims amid election tension
Vice President Harris and former President Trump also honored the victims of 9/11 in New York City. This solemn occasion followed a heated presidential debate between them. During the debate, Harris humorously invited viewers to attend a Trump rally to experience "a really interesting thing to watch," while Trump accused her of bussing in attendees and paying them to be there for her rallies.
Poll results favor Harris in presidential debate
A YouGov poll conducted on Wednesday morning revealed that most Americans believed Harris won the debate. Only 28% of respondents chose Trump as the winner out of nearly 3,380 people polled. During the debate, Trump had suggested sending one of his trademark red 'Make America Great Again' hats to Harris, claiming she was adopting his philosophy.
