Watch: New iPhone X ad celebrates marriage equality in Australia
Have you watched iPhone X's new ad - First Dance? A heartfelt celebration of marriage equality by Apple Australia, it captures some invaluable moments from the country's first LGBTQ weddings. Notably, the tech giant had pledged its support for same-sex marriages in Australia, months before the nation-continent declared it legal last December after 61% of its population voted in favor of it. Here's more.
How did First Dance come about?
All the scenes in the ad are from real Australian weddings shot on iPhone X. The ad is a part of Apple's 'Shot on iPhone' series, which aims to advertise iPhone X's standout features. The one-minute video includes scenes from three other 15-second First Dance videos released by Apple Australia showing union of couples of different ages and sexual orientations.
Real stories of love and perseverance
Among the weddings in the video are also those of Meg and Ann-Marie, Nick and Rob, and Antony and Ron. Set to Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barrett's the song 'Never Tear Us Apart', the ad is high on emotions, expressing the joy of queer Australian couples as they finally solemnize their love in the presence of their families and friends.
