Michelle Obama to release her memoir in November
Former First lady of United States Michelle Obama's memoir is all set to release on 13 November this year. Known as 'Becoming', the memoir is the highly anticipated book of recent times. The book will be published simultaneously in 24 languages, from Swedish to Arabic, by Penguin Random House. Here's all about it.
What exactly did she write about?
According to Michelle, the book allowed her the space to honestly reflect on the unexpected trajectory of her life. In this book, she talked about her roots and how a girl from the South Side of Chicago found her voice and developed the strength to use it to empower others. Her only other book was 'American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America'
Book is an unusual reckoning from woman of soul: Publisher
The Publisher Penguin Random House said as Michelle is the first African-American to serve in that role, she helped create the most welcoming and inclusive White House in the history. It also noted that the book is an unusually intimate reckoning from a woman of soul and substance who has steadily defied expectations and whose story inspires us to do the same.
