Now a male gymnast accuses Larry Nassar of sexual abuse
A former US men's junior team member filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against disgraced national gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar for sexually abusing him when he was 16. Jacob Moore, a Michigan University student, is the first male gymnast to publicly call out Nassar, who was sentenced up to 175 years in prison for sexually abusing over 160 young gymnasts. Here's more.
Nassar allegedly performed acupuncture on Moore's genitalia
According to Moore, Nassar sexually assaulted him in his home's basement in April 2016 on the pretext of treating his shoulder injury. The serial pedophile reportedly performed acupuncture on Moore's genitalia to treat shoulder pain (what!) and exposed his privates in front of a minor female gymnast who was also present in the room.
Nassar accused to sexually assaulting, abusing and molesting a minor
You guessed it right. Even Moore's complaint stated the obvious: there is no known connection, medical or otherwise, between a shoulder trouble that can be treated through performing acupuncture on a person's genitalia. Moore, now 18 years old, has therefore sued Nassar over sexually assaulting, abusing, molesting and harassing him (a minor then) for his perverse sexual pleasure and gratification.
More than 260 women claim that Nassar sexually assaulted them
Moore is the latest to join over 260 women who have claimed to be sexually victimized by Nassar. Notably, Moore's sister Kamerin, who had previously slammed Nassar for sexual assault, also testified against the doctor who served as the US Olympic gymnastics team's physician for over 20 years. Last November, he pleaded guilty for sexually abusing young athletes under his care.
Several testimonies of Olympic champions behind Nassar's downfall
Several A-list American gymnasts, including Olympic medalists Aly Raisman, Mckayla Maroney, Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas and Jordyn Wieber have gone public with their stories of abuse, accusing Nassar of sexually predating over them during their time in the US national team.
