4 killed after US military-contracted plane crashes in southern Philippines

A US military-contracted plane crashed in a rice field in Maguindanao del Sur province, southern Philippines, on Thursday.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines confirmed the incident, which killed all four people on board.
The aircraft was reportedly split into two upon impact.
The plane was contracted by the US military, Kanishka Gangopadhyay, a spokesperson for the US Embassy, told AP.

Crash site and victims' identities remain undisclosed
Ameer Jehad Tim Ambolodto, a safety officer from Maguindanao del Sur, said four bodies were recovered from the wreckage and they looked like foreign nationals.
The crash site is near Ampatuan, a farming municipality on Mindanao island.
Municipal rescue worker Rhea Martin told AFP that "The bodies were found near the plane," adding that "The plane was cut in half."
The identities of the deceased have not yet been revealed by authorities.
