'2 stages, 400 artistes': PM's 'Modi&US' event with Indian diaspora
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend a grand event in New York on Sunday, where he will interact with members of the Indian diaspora. The event, titled "Modi&US," will take place at the Nassau Veterans Coliseum in Uniondale. According to reports, all available seats for the event have been filled with over 25,000 attendees registering for the 13,000 available spots.
'Modi&US' event garners widespread support
The "Modi&US" event has attracted significant interest, with over 500 community organizations from more than 40 states signing up as "Welcome Partners" within two days of registration opening, reports said. Ganesh Ramakrishnan, a key organizer for the event, expressed his enthusiasm to ANI. He said, "The excitement is palpable and the sheer volume of people working together to make this event a success in really impressive."
PM Modi's US visit and event highlights
PM Modi's three-day visit to the United States includes attending the Quad Leaders's Summit, participating in United Nations discussions, and engaging in high-level meetings. His visit aims to strengthen Indo-Pacific partnerships and foster collaboration on global issues like health, climate change, and technology. The "Modi&US" event will feature two stages this year leading up to PM Modi's keynote address.
Cultural showcase at 'Modi&US' event
The main stage of the "Modi&US" event will present "Echoes of India: A Journey of Art and Tradition," featuring nearly 400 nationally and internationally recognized artists. These include Grammy nominee Chandrika Tandon, STAR Voice of India winner Aishwarya Majumdar, Instagram's Dancing Dad Ricky Pond, and singing sensation Rex DSouza. The outer stage will host unique community-led performances by 100 performers showcasing a range of styles from classical to folk, fusion to funky.
Event preparations and media coverage
Preparations for the "Modi&US" event are being handled by 350 volunteers from 14 states. Over 150 media professionals representing more than 85 television, print, and online outlets will cover the event. Harry Singh, Reception Committee co-chair, expressed his honor to be part of this celebration that highlights Indian culture and contributions of Indian Americans.
