    What's the story

    A Singapore Airlines flight en route from London to Singapore encountered severe turbulence due to adverse weather conditions, leading to one death and multiple injuries.

    The airline confirmed the incident on flight SQ321 via a Facebook post, stating that an emergency landing was necessitated at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport.

    The exact number of injured passengers remains unspecified by the airline.

    The incident occurred at 3:45pm local time.

    Singapore Airlines said that there were 211 passengers and 18 crew members on board the Boeing 777-300ER.

    Medical personnel were dispatched to assess injuries on board, as reported by Thai immigration police.

    Some uninjured passengers were allowed to disembark from the aircraft.

    The identity of the deceased passenger remains undisclosed.

    Assistance efforts

    'Committed to assist affected passengers'

    Singapore Airlines has expressed its commitment to assist all passengers and crew members affected by the incident.

    "Our priority is to provide all possible assistance to all passengers and crew on board the aircraft," the airline said.

    The airline are working with local authorities in Thailand to provide necessary medical aid, and have dispatched a team to Bangkok for additional support.

    Emergency crews from Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital were present upon landing to assist injured passengers.
