    What's the story

Jose Mourinho has been having a tough time of late, with his team putting up dismal performances one after the other, and him having disputes with members of the squad.

On top of everything, there have been constant rumors of Mourinho getting sacked and Zidane replacing him as United's new gaffer.

Recently, Zidane called up Mourinho to clear up the situation.

    Details follow.

    Zidane

Zidane wanted to clear up the situation

Zidane called up Mourinho to clear the tension that has been building up.

He thought Mourinho might have been thinking that it was Zizou who was plotting behind his back to take Mourinho's job.

Zidane told Mourinho that though his agents have been telling him there might be some truth in the rumor, he is yet to be contacted by any United official.

    Troubles

Mourinho's miseries are piling up every passing week

The Manchester United boss was heavily criticized after dropping Sanchez from the match against West Ham, which United ended up losing.

He has also fallen out with important players like Pogba and Marcus, thus creating a tense atmosphere in the dressing room.

Amid all these, the pressure of losing his job must be the last thing Mourinho would have hoped for.

    Woodword

    Woodword continues to back Mourinho

Amid all the rumors and problems, executive vice-chairman of Manchester United, Ed Woodward has said that the club will continue supporting Jose Mourinho.

"Everyone at the club is working tirelessly to add to Manchester United's 66 and Jose's 25 trophies. That is what our passionate fans and our history demands," Woodward said.

Woodward added that United will continue nurturing talents from the academy.
