Know about Zampa's secret weapon to dismiss Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli is undoubtedly the world's top batsman across all the formats of the game. With most of the top bowlers struggling to dismiss him, Australian spinner Adam Zampa has found a secret weapon to get rid of him. He has already dismissed the Indian skipper twice on this tour as he intends to become a thorn in Kohli's flesh. Here's more about it.
Zampa speaks on the secret weapon
Zampa said that the secret weapon was suggested to him by former Indian all-rounder Sri (Sridharan Sriram). He further added that bowling more out the front with a bit of side spin has helped him restrict Kohli. He feels that bowling sliders with some leg-spin also works against Kohli, as he tried it in the nets. Sticking to this plan helped Zampa overcome Kohli.
Kohli's record against Zampa across all formats
While Kohli has played Zampa seven times in international cricket, he has been dismissed on three occasions. Indian skipper has scored 65 runs off the 61 deliveries bowled by Zampa, with a run rate of 6.39. Against Kohli, Zampa has an average of 21.6, while his dismissal rate is 20.3, along with 34.3% of dot balls and 8.19% of boundaries.
Sri's experience is helping me: Zampa
"Sri has got the experience here...Sliders with a little bit of leg-spin, I'm finding in the nets it worked. And I got a wicket like that the other night in the first game - Kohli was the one that went straight on," said Zampa.
Who is Sridharan Sriram?
