WWE: Here are some amazing facts about John Cena
What's the story
John Cena is one of the most celebrated superstars in WWE.
While he is not a regular performer these days, due to his other commitments outside WWE, he still creates an impact whenever he makes a part-time appearance.
Already a 16-time world champion, he is being backed to win his 17th title.
Here we present some amazing facts about him.
Unwanted defeat
He lost to Kevin Federline
Despite being a top champion in WWE, Cena has endured some weird losses.
One such loss, and probably his worst, came against an opponent who is not even a professional wrestler.
Cena lost to Kevin Federline, the former husband of singer Britney Spears.
While it was a no disqualification match, outside interference from Umaga, who attacked Cena, led to Kevin reigning supreme.
Injury win
He won a match with torn pectoral muscle
It is common that pro-wrestlers get injured during a match. Cena too has suffered the same fate.
However, there is always something special about him.
In 2007, while he was in a match against Mr. Kennedy, he suffered a torn pectoral muscle. Nonetheless, he decide to continue the match and fight it until the end.
Interestingly, he also won the match.
Undeserving candidate
Cena once gave away his Slammy award to Ric Flair
Cena has won a number of Slammy awards, in 2009, 2010 and 2012.
However, he refused to accept the award in 2012, as the WWE Universe believed he was not worth the same.
Upon being announced the winner by Ric Flair, the crowd booed.
Cena walked out and handed the award to Flair, implying the GOAT deserves to be the Superstar of the Year.
WrestleMania King
He has won the most world titles at WrestleMania
As mentioned earlier, Cena is a 16-time world champion and it is a matter of time before he claims his 17th.
However, the most interesting part of his title wins is that four of them have come at the grandest stage of all, WrestleMania.
This makes him the superstar, with the most number of world title wins, at the Showcase of Immortals.
Other languages
He is fluent in Chinese
Cena has become an expert in speaking a second language, Mandarin.
While he did not grow up naturally speaking the language, he learned it a few years back to promote WWE in China.
And now, he is fluent with the language.
Further, in a recent three-minute speech, he delivered it fluently in Mandarin, without any script or cue cards.
