WWE: Preview and last-minute predictions for Stomping Grounds 2019
WWE's next big pay-per-view event is Stomping Grounds, scheduled to be held on Sunday at the Tacoma Dome in Washington. The event is hyped owing to some top title defense. While it would be interesting to see if any title changes hands, there are other top matches as well. In the same light, we present the preview and last-minute predictions for this event.
A new Tag-Team champion awaits?
The SmackDown Tag-Team champions Daniel Bryan and Rowan have been foul mouthing that no one else deserves a shot at their titles. However, it is the Heavy Machinery who has earned a shot. Being promising so far, Machinery has what it takes to be the champions, but would Bryan and Rowan allow that to happen? Prediction: Bryan and Rowan retain.
Is Samoa Joe too tough for Ricochet?
Samoa Joe has been a top heel, as a result, winning the US Championship. While Mysterio was scheduled to be his original challenger, an injury ruled him out as Ricochet earned his spot. While the latter looks a good contender, WWE is unlikely to make Joe drop the title, as they would wait for Mysterio to return and continue the feud. Prediction: Joe retains.
Will Roman Reigns get Drew McIntyre's number twice?
It was at WrestleMania when Roman Reigns pinned Drew McIntyre to prove that he is WWE's Big Dog. However, instead of ending the feud this has just irked McIntyre further and is determined to teach Reigns a lesson. McIntyre has the backing of Shane McMahon, and it would be interesting to see what Reigns has up his sleeve to overcome him. Prediction: Reigns wins.
Can the Hugger overcome the determination of the Goddess?
Bayley finished on top after winning the Money in the Bank last month and successfully cashing it on the same night. However, it is former champion Alexa Bliss, from Raw, who has entered the frame, thanks to the wild card rule. Meanwhile, Alexa is backed by her partner Nikki Cross, making it interesting to see what would be the latter's role. Prediction: Bayley retains.
Will Raw finally get a classy women's champion?
Becky Lynch has been on a roll ever since she won the Women's Championships at WrestleMania. While she might have lost the SmackDown title, she managed to hold on to the Raw title. Also, she successfully beat challenger Lacey Evans at MITB. However, the latter is determined to win. With the feud becoming interesting, expect some twist in the match. Prediction: Becky retains.
Dolph Ziggler's another shot at being him
Kofi Kingston's fine run as the WWE Champion continued after managing to steal a win against Dolph Ziggler at Super ShowDown. However, the outside interference from Xavier Woods has irked Ziggler as they lock horns again inside a steel cage. With chances to Woods interfering relatively less, the match could still see some great action. Prediction: Kingston retains.
A double threat looms large over Seth Rollins
While Universal Champion Seth Rollins did beat Baron Corbin at Super ShowDown during his first title defense, the latter claims that it was the match official who cost him the match. As he gets to pick his special guest referee for the match, Rollins is still a favorite to win. But, what about MITB cash-in by Brock Lesnar? Prediction: Rollins retains, no cash-in.
