WWE: Why is Roman Reigns returning to Raw?
The WWE Universe received a shock when former champion Roman Reigns announced that he would be returning to Monday Night Raw for some unfinished business. While he is still a SmackDown superstar, courtesy of the Shakeup a few weeks back, it is confusing as to what could be the reason for his return to his old yard. Here we decode the whole situation.
Double duty for dwindling viewership
Raw has been facing a mini crisis as there have been reports that both its rating and viewership have taken a hit. Things have hit a record low this term, especially after the Superstar Shakeup. Hence, WWE might have forced Reigns to pull off a double duty on both the shows to surge the ratings once again for Raw.
A big feud announcement for Saudi Arabia pay-per-view
There is another possibility that WWE might start setting up storylines and feuds for its upcoming pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia. With the event set to witness the return of legends like Goldberg, The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar, it could be possible that Reigns could challenge one of these legends. Notably, Goldberg looks likely, since both have never had a feud before.
Eyes still on the Universal Championship
It must be noted that Reigns never lost the Universal Championship. He relinquished it due to his battle with leukemia, and is yet to have another shot at the title. Currently held by his buddy Seth Rollins, AJ Styles is all set to challenge him at Money In The Bank. However, Reigns could insert himself into the picture by announcing that he is next.
Confront Shane McMahon along with The Miz
Reigns started a feud with the management when he attacked Vince McMahon during his first night on SmackDown after Superstar Shakeup. This infuriated Shane McMahon, who put him in a match against Elias in Money In The Bank. However, Shane too put his hands on The Miz's father during WrestleMania, as their feud continues on Raw. Chances are high that Reigns could confront Shane.
