For first time, a pregnant woman becomes WWE 24/7 Champion
Even though, critics had apprehensions about the 24/7 WWE Championship, but it has turned out to be a success. It is considered one of the most interesting elements in the company today. To date, there have been 17 different champions and the list continues to grow almost every week. On Monday, two new champions were crowned, including a pregnant woman. Here's how it unfolded.
What is the 24/7 Championship?
24/7 Championship was introduced in May 2019. The concept is that the Championship has to be defended 24 hours a day, at all places. Titus O'Neil was the first champion on Day One, as Robert Roode and R-Truth were crowned the same night. Truth has been the most successful champion, winning the title on 10 occasions. He has a combined reign of 50 days.
Kanellis becomes first pregnant woman to win 24/7 Championship
As stated by Mick Foley during the inauguration, the championship is open for all superstars and genders, and Maria Kanellis seized the opportunity. It happened after her husband Mike Kanellis won the Championship earlier on Monday night from Truth. However, while celebrating it with Maria, she betrayed him and pinned him to win the championship. Sounds bizarre, but that is how it happened.

Maria not the first woman to win 24/7 Championship
While Maria might be the first pregnant woman to win the 24x7 championship, she is not the first woman to win the title. Last week, during the Raw Reunion, former WWE Diva Kelly Kelly became the first woman to win the championship. Post her, fellow former women wrestlers Candice Michelle and Alundra Blayze were also crowned champions.
Maria is also the first-ever pregnant champion in WWE
In case one is wondering, Maria also created history by becoming the first pregnant woman in WWE to win a championship. Notably, she is also the first pregnant woman to win a championship across the pro-wrestling industry. Undoubtedly, a historic moment for Maria.
