WWE wrestlers who staged a comeback to achieve phenomenal success
Not all stars see a straight rise to the top of the card, some really have to work hard to achieve the main-event status in WWE. Some have been humiliated with the bookings made for them, while others have seen a straight dip from the heights they have reached. Here are five such wrestlers who successfully turned around their lowest points to their benefit.
Dolph Ziggler's career was almost over after Royal Rumble 2015
Dolph Ziggler is a phenomenal talent, never properly used by the WWE. His wrestling abilities are superior than most. His lowest point came in 2015's Royal Rumble. After entering at number 30, Ziggler lasted for two minutes as he was thrown out by Big Show and Kane. However, Ziggler overcame this humiliation and is still one of the best performers on Raw.
Chris Jericho, one of the GOATs, staged a miraculous comeback
Though Chris Jericho became the first-ever Undisputed WWE Champion, he was treated as a fiddle to Stephanie McMahon, downgrading his status as a champion. After Triple H took the title from him, Jericho was pushed to the mid-cards for many years before he finally quit the WWE in 2007. When he returned, Jericho fought for his spot, winning the Heavyweight Championship once again.
CM Punk was among the dismissed superstars who fought back
CM Punk is among the greatest WWE wrestlers, but his career took a fall when he had to vacate his first-ever WWE title reign. Punk was unable to compete when a kick from Randy Orton injured him and pulled him out of the competition from Unforgiven 2008. Punk came back, proved his skills once again, and achieved historic success in the WWE.
Daniel Bryan was dismissed as a mid-card regular
Daniel Bryan did not have a big-build, was not good looking, but one thing was for sure- he knew how to captivate the audience with his wrestling. Even after he won the Heavyweight Championship, Bryan was embarrassingly defeated within 18 seconds by Sheamus at WrestleMania. However, he came back strong and his win at WrestleMania 30 remains one of the best moments ever.
Booker-T's career at WWE had taken a tumble
Booker-T joining WWE after WCW's acquisition was a major boost for McMahon, and he rose up the ladder in WWE, before being attacked by Evolution. Triple-H racially abused him, pointed out to his criminal past, and the two were booked in a WrestleMania match which Booker lost in 23 seconds. Booker fought back, won King of The Ring and the World title.
