WrestleMania 35: Five ideal opponents for Kurt Angle's farewell
With less than a month to go for WrestleMania 35, WWE has already started planting the ideal matches. Meanwhile, former WWE champion and Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle has said that he would be wrestling his final match at the Showcase of Immortals. Therefore, WWE has to offer the best match to the Hall of Famer as he bids goodbye to WWE. Here's more.
Tame The Lone Wolf
Not exactly an ideal opponent, but a match against Baron Corbin makes sense as he was the one who took away the job of the General Manager of Raw from Angle. Although Corbin did not last long in the job, Angle never got it back. Further, Corbin blasted Angle for screwing him and taking away his post. Therefore, both have some scores to settle.
A lesson for The Scottish Psychopath
Apart from Corbin, Drew McIntyre is another man who was after Angle as he believed that the Hall of Famer has nothing left to prove and his time is up. He also humiliated Angle after making him tap out of his own finishing maneuver, The Ankle Lock. Angle did not take the defeat lightly and would look to avenge it against The Scottish Psychopath.
Intensity, Integrity, Intelligence vs Hustle, Loyalty, Respect
If anyone has been a WWE fan ever since her childhood, she would surely remember John Cena making his debut against Angle in 2002 and lost, while the rivalry was intense. Interestingly, Cena was the one who inducted Angle into the Hall of Fame in 2017. Therefore, a feud between the two makes complete sense, while it would be an emotional moment for both.
The end in The Deadman's Yard
This is the match we had discussed in our last article. Although it is not sure if The Undertaker would wrestle at WrestleMania this year, if he does decide to show up, he could go after Angle. While both of them are close to retirement, Angle tamed him to retain the World title in 2006. Therefore, Undertaker has some unfinished business.
What about Mr. WrestleMania?
Very unlikely, but the ideal match would be against Shawn Michaels. It was at WrestleMania 21 when the two went head-to-head against each other. Shawn Michaels was the strong favorite given his overwhelming WrestleMania records. However, Angle pulled out the impossible by making Michaels tap to the Ankle Lock. Thus, a final match between the two could prove, who is Mr. WrestleMania.
