Fortnite by Epic Games has transcended the genre of Battle Royale gaming to become a global cultural phenomenon. As with culturally transcendental things, they tie in with other popular cultural aspects to remain relevant. In this light, Disney's video game baddie turned hero, Wreck-It-Ralph appeared in Fortnite Battle Royale. Fans have already begun to speculate about a possible Fortnite, Wreck-It-Ralph crossover. The appearance of Wreck-It-Ralph
Ralph's appearance was first discovered by a streamer named MozzzyyTwitch, who was playing a duo mode. Landing in Risky Reels, the game's drive-in theater, he noticed Wreck-It-Ralph pop up on the theater screen. From what we know of the brief appearance, Ralph waves at the audience before hurrying off-screen. Notably, Ralph's appearance in-game coincides with the launch of the sequel Ralph Breaks the Internet.

A little about Ralph and the world of video games
The inclusion of Ralph in Fortnite is absolutely perfect, as he is a video game character himself, who starts as a villain. The first film referred to iconic video game characters like Nintendo's Bowser and Sega's Sonic. Importantly, Ralph Breaks the Internet also refers to beloved characters like Pac-Man and the current favorite Fortnite. Therefore, a Fortnite, Wreck-It-Ralph crossover makes perfect sense.

The latest collaboration between Epic and Disney is unsurprising as Disney used Fortnite before to promote Avengers: Infinity War by letting gamers play as Thanos during the Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mode. Players had to acquire the Infinity Gauntlet before unleashing havoc on opponents. Moreover, Fortnite itself is steeped in popular culture, including viral dance moves as emotes and even a John Wick outfit.
Speculations surrounding the possibility of a crossover
While neither Disney nor Epic has confirmed any news of a crossover, fans have come up with theories that are widely varied and highly interesting. Some fans believe that Fortnite will include a Wreck-It-Ralph outfit while some believe there will be a themed Limited Time Mode. There are also meta speculations that Ralph waving on the Risky Reel screen is part of the movie.
