    Delhi Capitals beat Gujarat Giants in Match 10 of the 2025 Women's Premier League (WPL) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

    Jess Jonassen's unbeaten 61 helped the Capitals chase down a modest 128. They eventually claimed a six-wicket win. The match witnessed Jonassen's first half-century of the season.

    Her innings was backed by some brilliant pace bowling from her teammates.

    Promoted to bat at number three, Jonassen cashed in, scoring an unbeaten 61 off just 32 balls. Her knock included 9 fours and 2 sixes.

    Her teammate Shafali Verma also played a crucial role with a quickfire 44 off 27 balls.

    Their efforts helped the Delhi Capitals cross the Gujarat Giants's modest target of 128, finishing at 131/4 in just over 15 overs.

    As mentioned, this was Jonassen's first half-century of the WPL. She now has 212 runs from 20 matches at an average of 21.20. Her strike-rate in the tournament reads 141.33. Jonassen also has 26 wickets with her slow left-arm orthodox.

    Delhi Capitals's bowlers shine in victory over Gujarat Giants

    The win was also due to the brilliant bowling display from the Delhi Capitals.

    This combined effort limited the Gujarat Giants to a score of 127/9, despite a late onslaught from Bharti Fulmani who scored an unbeaten 40 off 29 balls.

    With this win, the Delhi Capitals have registered their third win of the season and now sit atop the WPL 2025 table.

    The decision to have the Gujarat Giants bat first worked in their favor.

    Despite a good start from Kashvee Gautam, who made the most of the new ball, Gujarat's bowlers couldn't stop Delhi's batters from reaching their target.
