World Cup 2019: Team India's privacy breached in Birmingham hotel
India are all set to take on hosts England in the ICC World Cup 2019 in Birmingham on Sunday. However, just a day prior to the match, it has been reported that there was a security and privacy breach at the hotel of the Indian players. Three guests breached the privacy as they have been warned by the team management. Here's more in it.
Three guests violate team's privacy, served official warning
It was reported by The Telegraph that three guests violated the team's privacy at the Hyatt Regency in Birmingham. On Friday, the guests started to click photos of team's family members without proper permission. Meanwhile, in the evening, the same guests were seen shouting and turned aggressive in the hotel lobby. A member of Team India then approached hotel staff for help.
Management requests hotel staff for help
After the team management approached the hotel staff, the request for persona non grata was put forward. The hotel authorities immediately warned the guests for their improper behavior. Also, Team India was assured that they would face no further privacy disruptions during their course of stay. "Inappropriate conduct would lead to an immediate check-out, without a second warning," a source quoted to The Telegraph.
ICC has deployed additional security for all participating teams
Privacy breach is not new for cricket players. However, in order to make sure that the team's privacy is protected, besides the hotel security, the ICC too has provided an additional security for all the participating teams.
India look to seal semis spot against England
India would face a tough test against The Three Lions. While India are unbeaten in the tournament so far, they would aim to overcome the hosts in order to seal a spot in the semis. England, meanwhile, desperately need a win to keep their hopes alive, as they have lost two matches in a row. An interesting battle is on the cards.
