On being asked if he was desperate to script World Cup success, Rohit promptly said that he was seeking calmness and not desperateness. He further explained by saying that every time he has shown some desperateness, he gets deviated from his original plan, resulting in things getting messed up. "It has happened with me many times. Different things work for different people," he quoted.

"Look, there's a balance one has to draw between the kind of desperation that exists within you and the calmness you seek, if you've got to keep playing this game at the highest level. Calmness is what I need. Not desperation," he told Cricbuzz.
World Cup is the ultimate dream for Rohit
Speaking on what the World Cup means to him, Rohit boldly asserted that it is the ultimate dream, not just for him, but for any cricketer. He maintained that growing up, playing in the World Cup and furthermore, being a part of the winning team, is like a fairytale for most youngsters. "Mine was just that kind of dream too," he said.
Rohit believes India have the talent to do the job
Speaking on the squad for the World Cup, Rohit said that the weather too would matter while selecting the right playing XI. Besides backing the spinners, the also said that the squad has enough pace in their arsenal, while batsmen too have enough experience to make things count. Overall, he looks satisfied with the team and is confident that the job would be done.

"Virat has plenty of options to choose from. He's got full-time off-spinners, part-time off-spinners, he has medium-pace options, three quicks, left-arm options. The attack that we have is probably the best we could've picked," he further commented on the World Cup squad.
Rohit asserts onus will be on the top-order
While speaking on the game-changers in their side, Rohit spoke that the onus would be upon the top-order. He said that along with him, it is Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli's duty to be consistent enough and get things going. "It is not like 'I scored yesterday, today you do it'. The onus will be on us," he concluded.
