The biggest match of the ICC World Cup 2019 between arch-rivals India and Pakistan is off to an interesting start, with Pakistan winning the toss and inviting India to bat first. Notably, this was Rohit's second century in this edition of World Cup. His innings was laced with nine fours and three sixes. He had slammed his first century against South Africa. The partnership between Rohit-Rahul was the highest for India against Pakistan in World Cup.
KL Rahul falls for 57 after 136-run opening stand
Following a splendid 136-run opening stand, KL Rahul was dismissed after a fine innings of 57. He was dismissed of Wahab Riaz, after being caught by Babar Azam. His knock came off 78 deliveries, including three boundaries and a couple of sixes. Following his dismissal, it's skipper Virat Kohli, who has come onto the crease. Earlier, Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed had elected to bowl.
Rohit keeps creating new records
Rohit has now scripted the record of hitting the maximum ODI sixes in England for India. The record was previously held by former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly, who had hit 17 sixes in the country. So far, Rohit has 19 ODI sixes in the nation.

Rohit takes fifth fewest balls for WC century among Indians
Rohit took the fifth fewest deliveries among Indians to score centuries in the World Cup. His century against Pakistan came off 85 deliveries. The list is led by Virender Sehwag (81), followed by Kohli (83), Tendulkar (84) and Shikhar Dhawan (84).

Kohli fastest to 11,000 ODI runs
Kohli too entered the record books as he scripted his much-awaited record of becoming the fastest batsman to 11,000 ODI runs. Kohli has taken 222 innings to reach the landmark, going past Tendulkar, who had achieved the feat in 276 innings.
India score highest total against Pakistan in World Cup
Pakistan came up with an unwanted record when India inflicted the highest total against them in the World Cup. Moreover, it was the eight time in the previous nine innings that a 300+ total was scripted against Pakistan. The lowest total inflicted in the previous nine innings was 108 against Windies in the opening game of the tournament, after Pakistan were bundled for 105.
Imam-ul-Haq falls for 7 to Shankar
Imam-ul-Haq was dismissed by pacer Vijay Shankar. While Imam fell for seven, the wicket came under interesting circumstances. It was Bhuvneshwar Kumar who was bowling in the fifth over, while he walked off due to a hamstring strain. Shankar came on and claimed the wicket off his first ball, becoming the third bowler to claim a wicket on his opening World Cup delivery.
