Records which India can script in 2019 World Cup
The Indian cricket team goes into the ICC World Cup 2019 as one of the favorites to win the title. Men in Blue, under skipper Virat Kohli, will be aiming to make it count in England and Wales. Notably, India have two titles under their belt. In this edition, India could go on to script a few records. Here we list the same.
India can script this special feat if they win title
If India manage to win the World Cup 2019, then this will be their third trophy. Team India had won the title in 1983 and 2011. If they are able to clinch the trophy, they will become the second team to win three World Cups. At the moment, India are tied with West Indies (2 titles each). Australia have pocketed a staggering five titles.
India can topple Australia and retain this record
India will look to score aplenty on batting friendly pitches in England. With the batting firepower available, India can go on to script the record for scoring the most runs in an innings. The record is held by Australia. They had amassed 417/6 against Afghanistan in 2015. Prior to that, India had scored 413/5 against Bermuda in 2007. This time India may topple Aussies.
India can script this feats in World Cup 2019
India have managed only nine scores of 300-plus in the Cricket World Cup. They can get to double digits this time in the 2019 World Cup. If India manage to win all their matches in 2019 World Cup, they will register a total of 11 successive wins. This will see them equal their longest winning streak (11 matches) from 2011 to 2015.
India have what it takes to win the title
India have the squad to excel in World Cup 2019. Their top order, in particular, has world class batsmen who can dominate the proceedings. Further, the bowling quartet looks strong as well. Kohli's side will look to build on the momentum from the beginning. If they manage to avoid lapses and stick around as a unit, then it will be difficult to stop them.
