The Committee of Administrators (CoA) chief Vinod Rai has stated that the women's Indian Premier League T20 will go ahead in next three years' time.
As for now nothing else has been revealed.
This comes as a huge boost to the pool of women cricketers in India.
Ahead of the ongoing IPL 2018 play-off in Mumbai, an exhibition women's match will be held.

Exhibition match between BCCI XI and IPL XI
Earlier, after IPL Governing Council's nod for an exhibition game, CoA chief Vinod Rai said that the match will be between BCCI XI and IPL XI.
The match will start at 2:30 PM in the afternoon well ahead of the Qualifier 1 which is likely to be played from 7 PM onwards.
Meanwhile, top international women players will take part in the match.

Across both teams there would be 10 foreign and 20 Indian players as stated by Committee of Administrators member Diana Edulji.
The players for the exhibition game are set to be picked up by the national selection committee.
Reports also state that other country boards like England, Australia and South Africa have been contacted to make their players available for the exhibition match.

BCCI needs to build domestic set-up
Earlier, Mithali Raj had said that a tourney like IPL will make sense if the BCCI builds a strong domestic set-up in the country. She also added that more quality players are needed to qualify for playing in a tourney like this.
