Indian women's cricket series to be rescheduled due to telecast-rights
Women's cricket T20 tri-series featuring hosts India, Australia and England will be rescheduled to ensure it is broadcast on live television. The matches were originally scheduled from March 22 to April 3. However, BCCI's contract with Star ends in March, which meant fate of last two games was left hanging. In order to ensure the whole series is telecast, BCCI is taking this step.
Media rights auction at the end of this month
BCCI is set to renew the media rights soon. According to reports, the board will invite bids for the next 5 years, that is from 1st of April 2018 to March 2023 at the end of this month. It will be an online auction.
Star Sports telecast rights to expire on March 31
In order to get all the 7 matches telecast on Star Sports, the BCCI is ensuring that the date will be changed for the series to end by 31st of March. All the 7 matches will be played at the Brabourne Stadium, which will make it logistically possible to inculcate the changes.
Hectic schedule for Indian women's team
Indian women's team have a hectic schedule with the three-match ODI series against Australia to be played in Vadodara on March 12, 15 and 18 before the T20I tri-series begin. India will also play 3 ODIs against England on April 6, 9 and 12.
