England eves overcame Australia by eight wickets in the 2nd match of the Tri-Nation Women's T20I series in Mumbai on Friday. In the series, which also involves India, both Australia and England have one victory each. Aussie women managed 149/8 in 20 overs and England chased down the target with three overs to spare. Here is our match report.
Natalie, Tamsin thrive with blistering fifties
England rode through blistering half-centuries from Natalie Sciver and Tamsin Beaumont to get past the target. Sciver smashed an unbeaten 68 off 43 deliveries. She hit 10 fours and two sixes. Beaumont (58*) played a solid hand as well, and the duo stitched a 116-run stand to help their side past the finish line. Sciver had earlier picked two wickets as well.
Heroics of Rachael Haynes fall short
Australia's Rachael Haynes played a lone hand with a commanding knock of 65 runs. But wickets at regular intervals halted their charge. The Aussie skipper fell in the 20th over and by then she had given her side something to defend.
