Diana Edulji confirms the possibility
Former captain of Indian women's cricket team and member of BCCI's Committee of Administrators, Diana Edulji confirmed this news. She said "We are in talks of having a women's IPL. It is still on drawing board. But, now we need to look seriously. To start with, we need to have a 5 team affair. It will encourage more cricketers to come out and play."
Current tournaments for women
The Women's Big Bash League in Australia and Women's Cricket Super League in England are the only big domestic T20 tournaments for women in the world. Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana are the only Indian women cricketers who are part of Women's Big Bash League.
