IPL11: The 'worst' performing XI of the season so far
2018 IPL has lived up to its reputation so far. It has provided some of the best entertainment with its attractive brand of cricket. However, there have been some players who have failed to live up to their potential in the tournament so far. Here we take a look at the worst performing XI of the 2018 season.
Gautam Gambhir, D'Arcy Short and Aaron Finch
Gambhir has had the worst season so far. After scoring a brilliant 55-run innings in the opening game, Gambhir could only manage 30 runs in the next 5 games. D'Arcy Short has scored 65 runs in 4 matches at an average of 16.25 and a strike rate of 97.01. Finch has 24 runs to his name in 6 matches at an average of 6.00.
Glenn Maxwell, Yuvraj Singh and Saha
For a match-winner like Glenn Maxwell, 120 runs in 6 matches at an average of 20.00 is certainly below par. Yuvraj, who is one of the cleanest strikers, has just 50 runs in 6 games at a strike rate of 89.28. His inability to middle the balls led to Punjab dropping him. Saha has been disappointing as well with just 79 runs.
Corey Anderson and Ravindra Jadeja
Corey Anderson has been nothing but a disappointment this season. He has 17 runs in 3 matches at an average of 5.66. Anderson has picked 3 wickets at an average of 38.33 and an economy of 13.26. Ravindra Jadeja has just 1 wicket in 7 matches. He has had no luck with the bat either, scoring just 47 runs.
Jaydev Unadkat, Siraj and Amit Mishra
Most expensive Indian in the IPL, Jaydev Unadkat turned out to be a flop show with 4 wickets in his 7 matches. Mohammed Siraj has given Virat Kohli enough headaches this season and has bagged 2 wickets in his 4 matches for RCB. Finally, one of the top wicket-takers in the IPL, Amit Mishra has bagged just 2 wickets in 3 games.
