The five greatest rivals of The Undertaker
The Undertaker is a revered name in professional wrestling, with many believing that a single match with him can make or break your career. The Deadman has been a constant pillar of the franchise, and to have feuds with him is considered an honor by the WWE wrestlers. Here are five superstars who have proven to be the best rivals of The Phenom.
The Texas Rattlesnake had an intense feud with The Deadman
Stone Cold is another icon, and it was only fitting to give these two superstars an epic rivalry. Austin, first, challenged The Undertaker for the WWE title at 'In Your House: A Cold Day in Hell', a match he lost. The two then fought in a Buried Alive match as well, with the Undertaker 'sacrificing' Stone Cold in a macabre ceremony later.
Triple H and Undertaker were fierce rivals
Triple H, famous for his intensity inside the ring, has fought The Undertaker thrice at WrestleMania, providing epic matches each time. They are set to meet, once again, at the WWE Super Showdown in Melbourne, Australia. Triple H is such a tough competitor that The Undertaker needed assistance to leave the ring after defeating him at WrestleMania 27, a feat not achieved by many.
Brock Lesnar: One of the toughest wrestlers ever
Brock Lesnar shot to main-event status only months after joining the WWE in 2002. After he became the champion, he was given the ultimate push by pitting him against The Undertaker. These two fought in a Biker Chain Match, a Hell in a Cell and notably, Lesnar is the one who put an end to The Undertaker's 21-match winning streak at WrestleMania.
The Showstopper and the Deadman were perfect challengers
Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker have probably been the best performers WWE has ever seen, and they met in the first Hell in a Cell match in 1997, which Michaels won. He again defeated Taker in a casket match. But the two met a decade later in two consecutive WrestleMania matches which are considered the best wrestling matches of all time.
The Undertaker's brother was his greatest rival
Kane debuted in 1997 with a feud against The Undertaker, his kayfabe brother, and since then, has had an epic rivalry with the Deadman. The two have fought in Hell in a Cell matches, the Inferno match, and even twice at the Grandest Stage, WrestleMania. As The Brothers of Destruction, whenever they united, trails of brutalized bodies were left behind.
