Mohamed Salah- The Egyptian King
Is there any player in EPL who is as good as Mohamed Salah? Probably not. Liverpool destroyed hapless Watford 5-0 on Saturday to strengthen their bid for a top-four spot in EPL, courtesy of four goals scored by in-form man Mohamed Salah. The 25-year tore apart Watford to take his season goal tally to 36. Let us look at his career story till now.
Salah has now scored 36 goals for Liverpool this season
Salah's career has skyrocketed ever since he signed for Liverpool in the summer. The former Chelsea reject is at the peak of his powers right now, and has scored 28 Premier League goals while also registering 9 assists in this season. Salah is now Liverpool's most prolific scorer in a debut campaign, surpassing Fernando Torres.
Klopp thinks Salah can reach Messi's level
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes Salah can one day succeed Messi and Real Madrid rival Cristiano Ronaldo as the world's best player. "I think Mo is on the way (to being the best in the world)" Klopp said and challenged his player to maintain the high standards, he has set for himself in this season.
Salah's first EPL stint was not a big success
Salah was once dubbed the Egyptian Messi and rose to prominence when he scored two goals for Basel against Chelsea in the Champions League, a few seasons ago. The Blues immediately went out and bought him. Even though Liverpool were also interested in Salah, he opted to move to West London. Chelsea's talented squad meant opportunities were limited for a young Salah.
Salah is peaking at the right time
Salah opted to leave for the Serie A on loan in search of game time. During his time in Italy, he matured into a prolific goal scorer and lived up to his potential. Now back in the Premier League with Liverpool, Salah is in the form of his life and is peaking at the right time, given the World Cup is only months away.
