Shane Warne backs Virat Kohli to deliver in England
Spin Legend Shane Warner believes Indian skipper Virat Kohli will conquer the pitches during India's tour of England in July. India are scheduled to play three T20Is, three ODIs and five Test matches. With the World Cup in mind, this will be a crucial series for India and an opportunity for Kohli to redeem himself.
'Kohli will nail England this year'
"India face England first; perhaps the only place which Virat hasn't yet nailed. And I think he will nail England this year. I think Virat will have an unbelievable series in England," Warne was quoted by India Today group.
Kohli struggled in England during last tour
Kohli averages 53.4 in Tests but when it comes to English conditions the right-handed batsman has struggled in the past. Kohli has just 134 runs in 5 Tests in England. He is yet to score a half-century in England with his highest score being just 39. Kohli will be keen on setting this record straight when he sets foot in England.
Warne compares Virat to Sachin
"Virat is as good as anyone that I have seen play the game. Wonderful, terrific player, I love his energy and passion. I am sure when he finishes in ten years or so he will be spoken about in the same breath as Sachin,"
Warner believes Kohli has mastered chasing totals
Kohli is undoubtedly the greatest batsmen in the modern era and his 35 ODI hundreds are a testament to that. Sachin Tendulkar tops the charts with 49 ODI hundreds but with the consistency of Virat Kohli that record definitely looks like it's in danger. The Indian skipper is master at chasing totals something Sachin probably couldn't manage.
Kohli to get preparations ready with County cricket
Kohli might be an ODI King, but to set his Test record straight on English soil the Indian skipper will be playing County cricket in England for Surrey in June ahead of the Test series. Kohli will even miss the historic Test against Afghanistan in Bengaluru and Rahane will lead in his absence.
